Bobbi Larsen Ouellette was born in Fillmore, California. She enjoyed living in her quaint agricultural community, where she prioritized family, embraced her education and enjoyed writing from a young age. Bobbi lives in San Jose, CA with her husband, Bob, and family. While analyzing many college choices, San Francisco State became the clear path for her dreams to come true. Bobbi has been a teacher since 1993. She aspired to teach elementary school age children and write as a hobby. Writing just for pleasure took a dramatic turn when she began earning her masters degree in Curriculum and Development. Her master's program was formed in a cohort model. Her group was required to write reflections to prompts as a daily practice. Bobbi was receiving accolades for her smart, funny and intentional stories. This made her think that maybe people would be interested in her stories. Shortly after earning her master’s degree, Bobbi wrote her first book, “Looking for the Star”, which is a thoughtful and sensitive children’s book, where she incorporated her own students and classroom for the protagonists for the story.
However, nothing would compare to the joy she found raising her two children William and Mary. She is the mother of two bright, hard working, intentional adults who are following their dreams. Her children Mary and William both attend college in Southern California. She loves that she has raised two people who enjoy reading, writing and being creative. Bobbi feels blessed every day to have the love and support of her amazing husband and children.
“I have fond memories of taking my own children to the library and reading to them. Frequently, when I would read to them, a crowd of other little kiddos would gather at my feet. A man from the newspaper took this picture and later published it in the local newspaper. A proud moment for me, for sure.”
